The Last Day's Of School 2013

Last week Thursday I didn't go to school. Natacia got up at the usual time and went into school to compete her exam, which was a 10 minute oral presentation. She was finished by 8:40, while I got up and hour later than usual, got ready, had breakfast, and walked myself to the bus station, where I caught a bus into Slagelse. Natacia got on the bus at the school, and we got off together at the transport station in Slagelse, where we got on a train to go into Copenhagen for the day. Once in Copenhagen we went and visited the Government House, this is a very beautiful building. An American tourist must have overheard us talking English, because he came up to us and asked if we knew what the building was, so we told him it was Government House. We wandered around the outside taking pictures, and when I finally stopped taking pictures we went into the main street of Copenhagen, or 'Strøget' as the  Danish people call it. We wandered up and down, looking in all the shops, I even managed my first purchase in Denmark! I didn't really understand the cashier, but luckily I had exact money. For lunch we had Chinese food, you pay for a size of take away container, then depending on the size you get a certain amount of selections, though I'm pretty sure we have this in Australia. Once we had finished lunch we went to the Round Tower, which is pretty cool. It's, as the name would indicate, a round tower, and you can climb to the very top of it, the very centre is hollow and you walk up a long winding ramp inside, to get to the top. Once you get to the top you can see over all the rooftops in Copenhagen, it's really is a magnificent sight to see. After we climbed all the way back down we looked around the shops some more, before going into the souvenir shops. For some reason looking in these shops made me extremely excited, perhaps because it kind of made me realise that that is what I was, a tourist in another country. I don't know why but that fact hasn't clicked entirely in my brain still. When I was finished in the souvenir shops we went back to the train station and caught a train home. When we got back to Slagelse station Natacia's parents said they were in the shopping centre there, so that's where we went, then, when they were finished their shopping, we went home.

On Friday we had the last day of school before Christmas Holidays. We were meant to start school at 9, but because the class had some pretty ostentatious plans for the day we started at the normal time. The day started with a brunch of scrambled eggs and really tiny sausages, with chocolate milk and juice. After that we played the present game that I played with the scouts. This time I didn't win anything, but the teacher won three presents and gave one to me. It was a large box containing a brick, multiple dish sponges and a jar of potatoes. It didn't matter though, it was all in good fun. After the present game was over we all made our way to the main hall to watch a Christmas play, put on by one of the other classes. I didn't understand it, but it was funny to watch anyway. Once the play was over there were some funny 'awards' given out. Silly things like the campus 'babe' and things like that. Once this was over there was a speech and real award given by one of the teachers, then that was it, it was not even eleven O'Clock and we were allowed to leave. Natacia and I, as did many other students, made our way into the shopping centre, where we did some more gift shopping. Then eventually we made our way home, where we wrapped our Christmas gifts. It was a fun day, and much different/better than most last day's I've had in school, excluding this year's of course.
